At Tailwind Jungle Lodge, our eco lodge in San Pancho, Mexico, just north of Puerto Vallarta, we’re celebrating 20 years of “jungle love.” Over the years, our jungle home has welcomed families seeking a sustainable vacation in Mexico, yoga groups on wellness retreats near Puerto Vallarta, and travelers from around the world looking for adventure, nature, community, and inspiration.
This year, we’re marking our 20th anniversary with gratitude, love, and a special collaboration with one of our favorite partners: I Stand for Love.
How It All Began: A Love Calendar and A Love Story
Nearly 20 years ago, I discovered the I Stand for Love calendars at the gift shop of EntreAmigos, our
beloved community center in San Pancho. Artist Sarah Love had stocked her beautiful daily mantra calendars, and I immediately fell in love with the words and colors. Each day offered a dose of positivity and grounding — a perfect complement to natural life at our jungle ecolodge. That calendar became part of my daily rhythm.
Fast forward to a serendipitous moment in North Carolina in 2017. I had just met Walter (now my husband) in Colorado, and he invited me to sail on his boat. When I stepped aboard, what did I see hanging in the cabin? The same I Stand for Love calendar. Fate had spoken — and on that boat, our love story began.
Ten years, two kids, and countless adventures later, we still hang the I Stand for Love calendar in our jungle home. It has become a cherished family ritual. Our kids love reading the daily mantra out loud — starting each morning with joy, color, and inspiration.
