As we approach the end of another incredible season in the jungle, we’ve been reflecting on the many wonderful guests who have passed through Tailwind Jungle Lodge this year. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has made the journey here and embraced the adventure of natural living with us.
After nearly 20 years of welcoming travelers into this little corner of paradise on Mexico’s Pacific coast, one of the most meaningful parts of the journey continues to be the people we meet along the way.

The truth is… a little bit of everyone. As a family-run eco lodge and jungle resort in Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit region, nestled just north of the charming pueblito of San Pancho, Tailwind attracts travelers looking for something more meaningful than a typical vacation. Guests come here to reconnect with nature, slow down, and experience the beauty of jungle living near the beach. Some are solo travelers searching for inspiration and rest. Some are couples reconnecting beneath the palms. Some are families seeking a memorable Mexico family adventure together. And others are retreat leaders bringing groups together for transformational experiences in nature.

Over the years, the Tailwind Jungle Lodge has become a gathering place for intimate retreats focused on wellness, yoga, creativity, movement, leadership, and personal growth. Nature does half the work here. The jungle setting, candlelit evenings, open-air yoga palapa, nearby beaches, and sense of disconnection from the outside world create a powerful environment for transformation and connection. We intentionally keep our retreats intimate and personal, typically hosting groups of up to 17 guests.
Watching retreat guests arrive as strangers and leave as lifelong friends is one of our favorite parts of hosting these experiences.

As parents ourselves, creating a space where families can genuinely connect has always been important to us. Some of our favorite moments are seeing kids running barefoot through the jungle, spotting butterflies and tropical birds, playing cards by candlelight, hiking to wild beaches, and returning home salty, sandy, and smiling after a day of adventure. Without constant screens and interruptions, families often reconnect in beautiful ways here. For many guests, what begins as a Mexico family adventure becomes a collection of memories they talk about for years afterward.

When we first began building Tailwind Jungle Lodge nearly two decades ago, we dreamed of creating a small, family-run eco lodge in Mexico where people could reconnect with nature and experience a different pace of life.
What we never fully anticipated was how meaningful the people themselves would become to this journey.
Every season brings new stories, friendships, conversations, and moments that remind us why we continue doing this work.
