🌴 20 Years, 20 Lessons: Reflections from Our Jungle Ecolodge in Mexico

This season, we’re celebrating 20 years of jungle love here at Tailwind Jungle Lodge — our family-built ecolodge in Mexico dedicated to adventure, community, and connection with nature.

Over the last two decades, we’ve welcomed travelers from around the world — families seeking meaningful adventure, yogis and retreat groups in search of inspiration, and kindred spirits passionate about sustainable travel. Together, we’ve learned, grown, laughed (sometimes at ourselves), and discovered that the jungle truly has a way of teaching you what matters most.

In honor of this milestone, we’re sharing 20 lessons from 20 years — reflections gathered from the waves, the palms, and the beautiful souls who have passed through our little corner of paradise.

1. No mud, no lotus. Growth can be messy — embrace it.

4. Mother Nature is our greatest teacher. She speaks if you slow down and listen.

5. Mañana. Most things can wait until tomorrow — and that’s okay.

6. Family time is precious. The jungle reminds us what really matters.

7. Breathe. Namaste, even when the power goes out.

8. The only constant is change. San Pancho has evolved, but its magic remains.

9. Solvitur ambulando. Walking together through the jungle solves almost anything.

10. Poco a poco. We built this dream slowly, one palm frond at a time.

11. Taco stands come and go. But there’s always another hidden gem waiting.

12. The jungle provides. From coconuts to inspiration — abundance is all around.

13. Keep your sense of humor. Especially when the geckos laugh at you from the ceiling.

From family adventures in Mexico to transformative yoga retreats, the jungle has brought us together in the most beautiful ways.

Our dream began with a simple goal: to live in harmony with nature and share that experience with others. Sustainable travel has always been at the heart of what we do — not striving for zero impact (because we know that’s impossible), but always doing our best to reduce our footprint, honor the land, and celebrate its abundance.
